Extracurricular activities or hobbies

- Your resume is a professional document, and while it can be tempting to include hobbies or extracurricular activities, these sections may be hindering your ability to catch a recruiter's eye. A hobby or extracurricular activity is anything that you do in your free time that is not directly correlated to your day job. If these are relevant to the job you're applying for, or translate to a particular skill you should include them. For example, if you're applying for a developer advocate position and you run a successful technical blog or speak at conferences, these are great things to add to your resume, because they showcase the skills necessary to be a successful developer advocate. But if one of your hobbies is producing cooking videos, this should be left off your resume as it does not directly correlate to the position being applied for.
