- Do you do much exploratory testing in your current role? - Oh, exploratory testing is one of my personal favorite areas of software testing. Mind you, it never used to be. When I first started out in software testing I preferred the structure of well-defined and executed test cases, but as my experience grew and my confidence with it, I realized that I could do more good utilizing exploratory testing than most other testing types. With questions like this, you may not even realize that you do exploratory testing. But think about any time you've tested something that isn't on your user story or your acceptance criteria. When you're testing anything that you weren't specifically looking at to complete that feature with your development team, that's a form of exploratory testing.
