- [Instructor] I wanted to touch on the subject of health and mental performance, because this is a long test with plenty of questions and not a lot of time to read and reread questions and answers. On exam day, being mindful of what you eat and drink just prior to the exam. Sugar is known to give you a quick burst of energy, followed by a decline or crash, as it's commonly known. So yes, you can have your coffee. Just be mindful that sugar can potentially slow you down when you need it most near the end of the exam. My recommendation is to have a light meal of your choice within the hour prior to sitting for your test. This should give you enough energy to carry you through the test without mental fog or overall fatigue. Hydration is very important also. Just don't overdo it, because then it'll force you to take a break during the exam, which is not a big deal, but it can be distracting and you want to be in the zone,…
