- Hi there, I'm Mike Smith and in this series we look at the hidden tips of software testing, the types of tips that you don't learn in textbooks or certifications but can greatly help your own experience. Being a technical tester can sometimes mean being able to code just as well as a developer. However, it doesn't always have to mean that. Being able to clearly diagnose a system before writing or sending over a bug report can be a great skill in your arsenal to help solidify you as a technical tester. Log files are a running ideologue of a system or application. If there's a crash or something weird happens there's a good chance that the log files will give you more information on this.
