- Hi there, I'm Mike Smith and in this series, we look at the hidden tips of software testing, the types of tips that you don't learn in textbooks or certifications, but can greatly help your own experience. There was a time when you have to have very bespoke software in order to perform any level of performance testing on a website. Now, however, you could simply use Google Chrome Developer Toolkit to perform some light performance testing to your heart's content. It can be incredibly useful, especially if you don't have the resources available to do specific performance testing on a website, or you just want to know how long something is taking to load and more specifically, why. You can usually find the Chrome Developer Toolkit by opening a browser, going to the options, clicking on more tools, and then developer tools.
