- One of the most important things about high performance organizations is how well and transparent and clear information moves around that organization. One of our favorite models to describe this is the Western model. It talks about three different types of categories of organization, ranging from pathological to bureaucratic and generative. Take a look at this table. There's lots of different aspects that relate to how information is processed in your organization. And what are some of the consequences about how that information is used. For instance, consider cooperation. Think about your organization. Do you feel that cooperation is low, medium or high? Why do people reach out to work together? Is it easy? What about failure? How is failure treated in your organization?
