Communicating with the interview team

- Sending a thank you note to your other panelists is a gracious and strategic thing to do. Remember, a lot of these folks are very busy and probably do multiple interviews. They took time out of their schedules, and a thank you note is well deserved. But sending this note is also a smart thing to do, and here's why. It is because they are so busy that they may forget to enter your feedback. As a hiring manager, I've often had to chase down interviewers to get their feedback in. By that time, their memories are faded, and some may have even lost their notes. Yes, this happens, more often than you realize. Your thank you note is as much an act of grace as it is a reminder. Keep it short and simple. Explain how the interview helped you learn more and do better, extend an invitation to clarify anything, and stay in touch.
