- One of the key reasons why managing global teams is hard is because of communication gaps. If you can crack the code to fix the communication gaps on your team, you're off to a great start. Here are some tips on how to communicate effectively across cultures. You should set up time with the local HR teams to understand cultural nuances, country-specific policies, benefits, and the holiday schedule. This might seem like a trivial task but having an understanding of the cultural nuances of each location that you team is based in will help you lead them better and build trust.
