The shapes exercise

- [Instructor] Back at the beginning of the course I suggested that you sketch the most important page or screen in your current application. Now it's time to re-imagine and redesign that screen. Think of it as doing a stand alone storyboard. Use blank paper and pencil to do it. But here's the twist. As a constraint your new re-imagined design must contain a curved shape as an important part. Not just as an icon on a button even a passing glance at your new design should be enough to see the curved shape. You should work on this exercise at least 15 minutes. If you find one design before then put it aside and do another. To get your shape start by thinking up a random number from one to six. I've got a slide with six shapes coming up and you can then pick out your shape using your number. You can rotate the shape any way you need to work in your design. You can even make minor modifications to the shape as long as it's still recognizably similar to the original shape. This exercise…
