- Earlier, we discussed the natural tendency to work on the computer and layer elements to create a design solution. I found also that most of the work I see is simply layout with rectangles of images and text. It's easy to forget that we have the thing that separates us from animals, an opposing thumb. Doing work by hand or using alternative media can bring an idea to life. It can also add some excitement for yourself and the viewer to a project that would otherwise be just another layout. Rather than immediately launching a program and creating the solution as vector art, consider if another approach might be more applicable.
