What is illustrative design?

- [Narrator] So what is illustrative design? It's simple, it's nothing more than a design-oriented project, that requires an illustrative approach in order to solve a design problem. That may be a character design, a brand mark, an icon design, or an event graphic. Whatever type of creative project you face, the key to solving it successfully, is going to be determined by the creative process you use. So, let's do a quick overview of the four stages we're going to be covering in this course. The first stage is Creative Preparation. We'll cover how to think and extract meaningful information you can use on your project. The second stage is Drawing Your Design. We'll cover how to use analog skills to visualize what you will build before you build it. The third stage is Building Vector Artwork. We'll cover how to bridge the gap between analog and digital to create precise vector shapes. And the fourth stage is Presenting Your Designs. We'll cover how to communicate with your clients, respond to feedback, and help them see the full potential, that your work offers. This systematic process may seem a little intimidating as we go through it, but it's easy to understand, and you'll be able to adapt it to your own creative workflow. So if you've ever come up with an idea, and you thought you couldn't pull it off, it's my goal to help facilitate your skills, so you can approach and execute illustrative design, with more precision and success moving forward.
