- [Instructor] Hi, I'm Nigel French, welcome to "Type Tips." In this episode, I'd like to look at how to apply a stroke to display type in InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. And specifically at the similarities and differences of the three applications. I'm going to start in InDesign. I'll select the text frame, come to the Swatches panel, click on my Formatting Effects text icon, make sure I have the Stroke property selected, and then choose the color of the stroke. I'll come to the Stroke panel to determine the stroke white. I'll leave it right now at five points, but we also have options to determine the join and the alignment of the stroke. Let me get in closer so that we can see these. So first of all, the join. Miter join, round join, or bevel. I'm going to go with round. And then we have the option to align the stroke to the center of the type, which is what we currently have, meaning that half of this stroke…
