Starting the project off right

- When you look back at the projects you've done whether they're really successful or really challenging, there was a point they both have in common, the starting point. More often than not the outcome of a project can be traced back to how you kicked it off and brought everyone in at the start. So if you're having challenges, I would start at the start. At my company at least once a year, we go over all of our processes. We look at them in correlation to the year's work and we assess what went well, what seemed overly cumbersome and so on. We actually tried to do this on a regular basis but we take a step back at least once a year to get some perspective on the whole project flow. The client onboarding process in the beginning of a project often get the most attention. The reason is simple. We want to start on the right foot by understanding all we can about our client's needs, communication style and expectations.…
