Rearrange the familiar: Creative Exercises to Spark Original Thinking
Rearrange the familiar: Creative Exercises to Spark Original Thinking

This activity uses a photo, scissors, glue, and trace paper. In this video, you cut image into a grid of six parts. Rearrange and trace. Many creative people use photos for inspiration but just reproducing a photo can sometimes feel flat. One way to elevate a photograph’s potential as source material is cutting it up and rearranging it to make a new image. Often, abstract unplanned visual events can occur and the resulting ideas are edgier and more unconventional.
