- Before we talk about what factors you must consider when pricing, I'd like to discuss some guiding principles and beliefs I have about pricing that ultimately may change how you approach your numbers. The first and most important principle is that there is no magical number. Every single project and client is unique and have different parameters and expectations. As well, each person or firm has a different value, depending on their skills, years of experience and expertise. There are just too many variables. Secondly, focus more on the relationship. Throughout this course, I call this building the love. Meeting face to face increases your chance of winning the project because the prospect gets to know you. If you are likable and authentic, you immediately gain their trust. And as I've already mentioned, if they trust you, they will want to work with you regardless of your price.
