- [Billy] Design is a deep discipline, so you'll need to make your own decisions about how far your own journey will go. You'll learn the most through experience on real projects. You might not start out doing great things, but you may be surprised by how quickly you get better. There are many resources I suggest to help you deepen your understanding. There are many books about the principles and philosophy of design, but I suggest you begin with these two. Universal Principles of Design is comprehensive reference, and The Design of Everyday Things will you begin to notice design in the things you use every day. Here are some excellent books on the process of design and the discipline of interaction design. Start with the first book, Sketching User Experiences: The Workbook. It's very practical and hands-on.
