- [Narrator] Networking no longer means sitting in a room full of strangers, telling everyone your elevator pitch and experiencing that odd handshake. Not everyone is comfortable doing that, and that is okay. You don't need to show up in a place, pretend to be someone else, if that's not really your place to be. What you can do is you really want to show up in places where you are comfortable. You can start small. Let's say creative mixers, where it's for your design association. Let's say the AIJ, you have creative mornings, rice and tights society. All these are places where you can get together with other creatives and start to get to know them. You can have coffee or lunch with people you connect with, keep it intimate, and you're starting to build your networking skills that way. Social media is a fantastic way to do this. I've been in very remote areas, where there's not a lot of creative community, so I've used social media as a way to network and it's worked out fantastic…
