- [Nigel] Hi I'm Nigel French, welcome to Type Tips. I have a tip for you about the difference between working with a single frame and dividing it into columns or working with multiple single frames and threading them together. So, there are these two approaches when you're working with columns of text in InDesign. On the left, I have one frame divided into three columns and on the right I have four single column frames. Now, in may seem like I'm splitting hairs here, talking about the difference between the two but it is significant and most of the time, I think you'll want to go for this option. And the reason for that is that, first and foremost, it's easier, there are less components. It's one frame, rather than three or possibly, some people might approach this as being five frames, taking the headline, taking the stand-first, and putting them in separate frames but it can all be accomplished within a single frame because with the headline, with the stand-first paragraph, there…
