Lock transparent pixels

- [Instructor] Locking transparent pixels is an important concept when working with layers. And it can be a real time saver when coloring in your art. The button to enable it is right here in the top row of the command bar of my layers palette. And here's how it works. Right now, in my document, I have a layer for my line art, a layer for my text, and a layer for my fill. I also have a paper layer and that is what is giving me this white background. But if I turn my paper layer off, we're left with pure transparency, and that is indicated by this gray checkerboard pattern. Now, the checkerboards you see here, aren't part of my art. It's only indicating that there is no information in those areas. Clip Studio calls these transparent pixels. So watch what happens when we enable Lock Transparent Pixels. So I've selected my fill layer and now I'm coming up to the Lock Transparent Pixels button and clicking it, it turns blue…
