Introduction to material shaders
- [Instructor] Welcome to the world of shaders. In this video we are going to learn about the concept of shaders, and how we can use this concept to influence our understanding and execution of textures, shading, and lighting when creating the illusion of different materials. So we're switching gears a little bit, before we get moving in on texturing our scene. Let's open up one of our other Exercise Files, and this will be our Shaders psd file. As you open this up you're going to see a lot of different breakdowns of these shaders, and we're going to talk about those in a little bit greater detail in the other videos, but the basic idea between material shaders is they're a visual representation of how a material reacts to a physical environment. Shaders can be 2D or 3D and are traditionally computer generated for games and movies. But we're going to take a look at shaders in terms of simplifying materials.
