- Our ambient occlusion has really helped us understand…the basic forms but we need to create a little bit more…dimension to make these forms pop.…Let's add some highlights to our character and castle…to give it a more realistic look.…Let's go ahead and select our skin group,…and once again, we're going to start on the face…as we have been.…The main reason behind that is just because…there's so many subtleties in the form…and it's such an important part of the overall piece…that we need to pay a little bit more attention,…and a lot of the rules apply once we learn…some of the concepts here…and move on to some of the other areas.…
So let's go ahead and make a new layer…above the ambient occlusion shadow,…and we can name this ao highlight,…which will stand for ambient occlusion.…Even though ambient occlusion is more about the shadows,…we still want to go and pop up some of the highlights…to make those shadows look a little bit deeper.…So let's hold down the Alt button and we'll get it…to where it's talking to the rest of our layers,…
