- [Instructor] Welcome to Type Tips. My name is Nigel French. In this episode, I want to show you some techniques for very quickly formatting a long text document. And just to make my point, I've chosen as my document, Moby Dick by Herman Melville. Currently, I run to 712 pages. Because I have my smart text reflow turned on and I also have delete empty pages checked, that number is going to grow and contract as necessary, as our text lengthens or shortens. So the text itself is full of those common errors that we see in client-supplied text files. There are lots of extra returns, there are lots of extra spaces. I want a quick way of dealing with these. One way would be to come to find change and to use these predefined grip queries, multiple return to single return, multiple space to single space, and these are great, but there is a faster way, still.
