- [Nigel] Welcome to Type Tips, I'm Nigel French. This week a visual table of contents. There are quite a few movies in the training library about how to set up and generate a table of contents in InDesign, so I'm not going to go over the basics, but rather point out two things here that are a bit unexpected. The first is that this spread uses two table of contents. Here for the text and then each of the images has a page reference. The second thing is that the text table of contents uses for the descriptions of the articles hidden text. And let's imagine that in this scenario these descriptions that we want in the table of contents are summarizing the content of the article and this text does not actually appear on the article spreads themselves. So if we look at our Pages panel we have 64 pages. There's not content, except for the heads, that's it. And also on a hidden layer I have the descriptions, so I'll need to turn…
