- [Instructor] In the previous few movies, I showed how to create a hand-drawn font. I'm now going to use an entirely different approach, creating a font based on a grid using illustrator and Fontself. I go into much more detail about this in an episode from April, 2020 from my Type Tips Weekly series and you can see that here, but here's a quick recap. So what I want to do is using this grid, create each of my 26 letters and my 10 numerals. My grid is two squares, two circles, and intersecting diagonals. This is the approach that I take. I'm going to select it. Command or Control+C to copy it to the clipboard, then from the View menu, I'm going to convert that to Guides. I'm now going to paste the copy that's on the clipboard in front, Edit, Paste in front. I'm going to convert this to a Live Paint group using the Live Paint Bucket.
