- This viewer writes, "I keep hearing … "that I should do what I love, follow my passion, … "things like that, but I don't have anything like that. … "I like graphic design, but I'm not very good, … "and I don't know if I have what it takes. … "I don't want to get stuck in the wrong career." … A couple things. … In my experience we're not passionate … about things we don't know. … We may have an interest, we start, … and it may become a passion, I mean a real love, … and if we can work that into a career, that's the best. … But maybe not. … There's a learning curve. … Ira Glass years ago … observed that we get into the creative arts … because we have good taste. … But in the beginning our skills don't match our taste. … We work, and our work disappoints us, … because it's just not very good. … And there's nothing to do but fight through that. … Stumbles, setbacks, false starts, but we evolve, … we grow, we get little winds, and they add up. … I like the example of the natural world. …
