- [Instructor] Artboards are a fairly recent addition to the Photoshop interface, and a great tool for organizing design content. In this video, we will learn how to create an artboard, and import the appropriate exercise files into your document so we can begin exploring textures and shading. So the first thing we want to do is go into file, and select new, and what this is going to do is open up a window, which is going to give us some options for our new document. And what you're going to do is go to the right side of the document, and let's go ahead and play around with the pixels, we went a fairly decent-sized image, so that we can get some nice texture on our character. Lets' go 4,000 by 4,000 and make sure that we have this artboard option selected. And then go ahead and hit the create button. And you should have something like this, we'll have the artboard, and then we have this blank layer, and what we can do is go in and select kind of a lighter gray, and we can use the…
