Join Kristin Ellison for an in-depth discussion in this video Goodbye, part of Getting Started in Graphic Design.
I hope this course has given you a better sense of the elements of design, as well as some of the core skills you need to create great work. In the Playlist Center, you'll find a playlist called Getting Started With Graphic Design. We've touched on a lot of topics, but very superficially, so I urge you download that playlist and take a deeper dive into these important areas. There are two series I want to point out. Our Essential Training series is a great place to start when learning a new piece of software. And check out our Foundation series for elements of design, color, layout, typography and more.
Both series have been designed for those who are new to a topic, so they cover all the essentials and will prepare you to step out with confidence. Additionally, I've included an outline of the key areas every new designer should focus on. This can be found in the exercise files. Graphic design is an amazing field. And as your ability to create stronger concepts and better designs increases, the more fun you'll have, so never stop practicing. And remember, there's inspiration in the most unlikely of places, so keep your eyes peeled and your sketch book handy.
To help you get started, Kristin curated a playlist of courses covering just the foundational elements of design. View and subscribe to the playlist here.
