Making final marks and rendering shadows

- At this point, you can come in and crisp up some lines, if you want to. I kind of like the soft nature of this. But there might be some areas where you say, "You know what? "I sort of really want to show the transition... "and the overlaps a little bit more "as we come off of the neck," let's say. Or you know, down the side of the face. So I've just actually changed the way I held my pencil. In all these marks, I'm holding my pencil like this and making kind of sweeping lines that have softness. But at a certain point in the drawing, I go from this sort of pencil hold to this sort of pencil hold, which makes me want to make more precise marks. Makes me want to say, "All this softness and data that I've collected, "I'm feeling pretty confident about it. "So I'm going to crisp up some of these lines. "I'm going to make a little bit more of a statement "with some of these lines." And when you start to move to that point, you can also start to notice sort of lightened shadow patterns…
