Defining form

- I love how the gesture here really seems to start at the elbow point, there's this sense of drama and pull across that arm. Then I come to the shoulder here, then really the ribcage takes over, so that early oval we created helps us to create this outer curve. This outer curve is a result of the fact that there's an egg-shaped bone structure underneath it. This side of the body is the side of the body with a little more stretch because there's this arc to the right happening. Sometimes I'll work down one side of the body where I feel that kind of pull and stretch down at the pelvic area here. Sometimes I'll immediately skip to the other side of the body because I know when there's this sort of pull and stretch on one side there's going to be often a pinch or compression of the other side based on the curve of that gesture. On this side of the body I can start to create these sort of pinches and tucks to the form. And I can start to really see the drama of the curve of that pelvis…
