- Next exercise, you ready? Why not! This exercise is called "The Middle", anybody a writer? If you're a writer at home you're gonna love this. All right. Story is a powerful communication vehicle because it's universally understood. The flow of story is known so well that you can often predict the outcome of a story before it's revealed. But what happens when that story isn't linear and you're left with the task of filling in the missing pieces? Let's find out. Get with your partner. Together you are tasked with writing a story from the middle. I'm gonna give you the beginning and the end. The two of you only have three sentences with which to connect the beginning of the story with the end, OK? I'm gonna give you the beginning of a story and the end of the story, and you're gonna have three sentences and five minutes to connect those two things so that your story makes sense all the way through.
