Color and mood
Color is one of the most elemental forms that you have at your disposal as a designer. Color is universal, because of the fundamental ways we perceive nature, night and day, cold and warm, spring and fall. Use your understanding of color to add powerful doses of mood and emotion to your work, and to set off your ideas visually. For the purposes of this movie, I'm going to assume you already possess a solid working knowledge of color theory. And, so without further ado, let's take a look at how color can help us tell better stories. Since we just talked about symbolism, let's tackle one question I often get about color, isn't it worrisome for a designer that you might offend someone from a different culture by using the wrong color? My answer to that is no. Let me give you an example from China, because so often we carry the perception that color meanings in the East vary wildly from color meanings in the West.
