Day 18 challenge: Cardboard doodles

Welcome to day 18 of the 21 Day Drawing Challenge. When I sketch and draw, I like to use these notepads. When I run out of paper, I'm left with this thin cardboard backing. Instead of throwing these away, I save them and it's this habit that helped me discover a fun, creative exercise I want to share with you now. I take the cardboard and draw a simple contour shape of anything. In this case, I'm going to do a cyclops chicken character. After I'm done drawing the contour, I cut the shape out using a pair of scissors. Once I have that shape cut out, I simply start doodling on it with a black pen. Once I'm done, I have what I call a cardboard doodle. My studio is full of these. Here's several other examples I've created using the same methodology. So your drawing challenge today is to create your own cardboard doodle. It can be anything you want so let your imagination run wild. You'll find a step-by-step instruction sheet in the exercise files for this course.
