- Welcome to day 16 of the 21 day drawing challenge. Your drawing challenge today is to look at the provided reference sheet then draw the owl character out in an iconic style. You'll need to thoroughly analyze the real world reference photos and study the intrinsic characteristics that make up an owl's visual aesthetic. Then you need to translate them into simpler flat shapes to compose your graphic drawing. This same process is often used in the creative process for logo development and iconography. I like to refer to this skill set as drawsigning because it requires a keen ability to discern shapes by translating complexity into simplicity. Don't get frustrated though. It won't be easy. Take your time and focus on one area of the owl and resolve it before you try simplifying another area. You'll find the reference sheet for this challenge in the exercise files for this course.
