Using mixed media to achieve a gradient sky

So what I'm seeing is something that really feels more like pastel. It's really soft. I'm going to try working with that. I'm not a purist. I don't think you have to work with one medium. I like mixed media as long as they blend well. I'll add a little bit of another color and neutralize it because it's, it's not, when I look at the piece, it's not exactly a pure, vibrant blue. It's really sort of soft. Just going to use my paper towel to pull some of the color off because I want that ground to show through. If I cover it up completely, that will also make the color pop forward and break the illusion of space, so I have to be mindful of keeping that purple as part of this color in the background. Even if I want this wonderful, wonderful sky to try to mimic this blue that I'm seeing, I can't, I can't bury that purple entirely or the blue will just jump forward and it won't look right. A little more of this blue. You might wonder, you know, why would you put purple on a purple…
