Lightening the Eiffel Tower to fit the context
Now the Eiffel Tower, I feel like it shouldn't be exactly the same color as the, the tree line, but it shouldn't be too different, because they're in similar space. So I'm just going to make it a slightly different blue. I'm adding a little bit of cobalt blue to keep this from being exactly the same color as its surrounding. And I also have to watch how dark I am with this color. I could easily go too dark because, you know, you look at the Eiffel Tower in shadow and it's dark. In a photograph, if I look at my photographic reference. If I painted it exactly that way, in this context of this painting, it will look completely off. And the reason why is that it's really brown in this scene, it's quite dark. In a photograph, we, we believe it because in the context of the color of the scene, it makes perfect sense. It's also a photograph and we know that it's real, but this is a painting. And to suspend our disbelief further you have to really make sure that not only does it fit the…
