Let's get down to the nitty-gritty of the Q and A portion of the briefing session I'm suggesting you do with your client. In the resource files is a creative briefing questionnaire that you can literally use to go step by step and talk a client through a proper briefing session. Ask the client to identify the people in their organization, who should participate in the briefing process. If you like, you can send all those people your questions via e-mail prior to the meeting, so they'll have had a chance to think things over in advance of your meeting. Or you can go in cold and try to get a more spontaneous reaction to your briefing questions. It's up to you and the client to determine which suits the personalities and schedule of the people involved. It may take more than one session to get a full briefing because you're talking with many people, or it may be that just one person will represent the client.
