- The USPS wants nothing but smooth sailing. Clean address lists, standardized formats, and automated processing it's the only way to efficiently process nearly 160 billion pieces of mail per year. Their nightmare is to get a huge shipment of poorly prepared mail. It only seems fair that when you're careless in preparing your mail it costs you because it costs them a lot. The USPS postage system is structured in such a way that it rewards you with aggressive discounts for work share and compliance. On the flip side there are lots of marketers out there who are paying more for their mail due to careless and preventable errors, and I don't want you to be one of them.
