- [Instructor] After you have installed the Oracle software, using the Oracle Universal Installer, we can go ahead and create our listener, as well as our database. Remember that after finishing the software installation, you still don't have a database. You'll need to create one. First thing I recommend doing Is logging off and logging back in with the Oracle Linux OS user. In order to do that, you can click on the power button, in the upper right corner, selecting the oracle user, and selecting Log Out. Confirm the Log Out. After the Log Out has finished, click on the oracle user and type the password to log back in again. Now that you have successfully logged in again, open a terminal window and type; 'cd' space '$' and then in uppercase, 'ORACLE' underscore 'HOME' Press enter. This will take you to the Oracle installation directory. You can verify it by typing 'pwd' which will display the current working directory.
