- [Instructor] This course is intended for anyone who is looking for a successful way to take their first step in a path toward becoming an Oracle database expert or an Oracle database administrator. If you are already an Oracle DBA or expert, then please be advised that this course covers mostly the basics required to get you up and running as fast as possible and is not intended for people with a lot of Oracle experience. Before taking this course, make sure you have working knowledge with the Linux operating system, including familiarity with basic shell commands, as well as basic knowledge of the Linux VI text editor. In addition, it is essential for you to have some understanding of relational database concepts, such as transactions, tables, indexes, and some experience with the SQL language. During the hands-on section of this course, you will be installing and running Oracle on a VirtualBox.com virtual machine running Oracle Linux Version 7.2. You will need to make sure you have access to such a VM as well as have the root password before starting this course.
