What new projects are you working on?

(upbeat music) - [Interviewer] Undoubtedly there's still things that you want to accomplish. What are those things? What do you still want to do? - The primary focus that I'm spending my time on right now is, we've been able to be fortunate enough to start a company called Devoted Health. And I'm working with an amazing team of people. And our mission is to build a healthcare company that would really take care of every one of the people responsible for, like they were our own family members. Think about that for a second. When we have a health care system, how many times we have to find somebody in the health care system to advocate on our behalf. What would it look like if we had not just a regular insurance company, but a company that was one part insurance, one part clinical services, doctors, nurses, social workers, but also all powered by technology to maximize the quality of care. And really do it in a way that we would want for our own parents, or a sibling. That's the mission that we're on, because we think that, and we believe, that if we don't do this, the costs are just sky rocketing in the company, and we have to show the way that you can actually make a new model of health care. Some of the details of it are, we are going to start as what's referred to as a Medicare Advantage company. Medicare is what happens in the United States when you turn 65 or older, and you work with the government. But there's another model that's referred to as Medicare Advantage where, if you sign up with a particular organization, like if you signed up for Devoted Health, we receive a payment from the government to take care of you. If we do an outstanding job, we get some percent of that. If we do a bad job, we get all the downside risk, and we're also penalized. So everything about it is what's referred to as a value based system. Like our job is fully incented. And what we're doing is, we're building this around these great primary care physicians. Like that traditional doctor, who's acting as your quarterback for your health care system. But augmenting them with this clinical services team of doctors who are going to be able to get into your home soon as you are released from the hospital to make sure your medicines are all coordinated, and your care is there, and nurses that are there as well. But all powered by a layer of technology that helps make it more efficient. We're not trying to replace a doctor, we're not trying to replace a nurse, we're trying to augment them to be more effective. (upbeat music)
