- [Instructor] I'm starting in the 04_03 exercise file. Here are the results of a very small meta analysis consisting of only five studies. The layout of the data is very similar to the layout used in the prior lesson, but since this represents a meta analysis there is a bit of additional data. The five studies occupy rows three through seven and the two groups in each study, treatment and comparison, are summarized in columns B through D and columns F through H. The summaries, of course, indicate whether or not the people in each group showed improvement as a result of the treatment. As in the prior lesson, the odds on improvement in the treatment group and the odds on improvement in the comparison group are both given, this time in columns J and K. The odds ratios appear in column L and are simply one's chances of improvement in the treatment group as compared to one's chances of improvement in a comparison group.
