The default database: Disk based

- You'll never master DaVinci Resolve if you don't understand how Resolve manages databases, users, and projects. In this chapter, you'll learn how to manage Resolve 12's default database, the disk based database which is where you store your projects. The disk based database is the one Blackmagic recommends most of you should be using. It's a very simple database to move around on your machine and it archives easily with automated back-up software. And, it seems to me, here in Resolve 12 they've optimized this database and it's gotten very fast, especially when saving. Here on my desktop we've launched DaVinci Resolve 12 for the first time, and new in Resolve 12 we launch directly into the Project Manager. Users of earlier versions of Resolve will be extremely confused by this as we mentioned in an earlier movie. Remember, all freshly created databases now open into this brand new single user mode.
