- Let's talk about how DaVinci Resolve is used and who uses it. Now Resolve color corrects moving images. It's a professional level software and it's used worldwide by some of the most demanding storytellers. From 10 poll blockbuster films, to corporate training videos, it is optimized for enhancing and controlling images recorded as digital video files. Now, while Resolve is optimized for digital color correction, in Version 12, it's editing workflow has been seriously strengthened. And for many types of projects, it can now be used both for non-linear editing and color correcting. The name DaVinci has been a premium brand name for three decades. Starting out as a film based telecine. They got their start in 1984 and in 2004, they launched the software version of their DaVinci color correctors and named it Resolve.
