Understanding the Contrast and Pivot controls

- Another tool you can use for making big, honking corrections is contrast and pivot. In fact, I know a lot of colorists who love contrast and pivot because it gives you a very different type of contrast expansion than using our normal three-way color wheels. Where are we going to find them? Well, if you look at the bottom here in the color wheels menu, right down here are contrast and pivot. What a lot of people will do is they'll start with the pivot tool, they'll click and drag to the right or left to make changes, and look at the image. Nothing is happening. (Laughing) Well, this is a useless tool, they'll say to themselves, and then they'll never touch it again. Far from it. This is an integral tool. I'm going to reset on the word "pivot." I'm going to double click on the word "pivot," and that'll reset, and it sets to 0.5, that's its default. Pivot is meant to be used in conjunction with contrast.
