- Now that you've learned the basics of Normal Edit Mode and Trim Edit Mode, it won't be long before you find yourself getting frustrated that these keyboard shortcuts are not doing precisely what you want them to do. What do I mean? Well continuing with the timeline from the previous movie, let's start with this shot here on track two. And I'm going to use X to mark an in and out point for this shot. I'll press X, and what just happened? I want the in and out point for this shot. It actually gave me the in and out point for the shot on V1. This can be really annoying behavior, and it's really easy to fix. You just need to understand the concept of the Auto Track Selector. Where do we find the Auto Track Selector? Well it's right down here, this third icon to the right, for each track, has these icons, and this one is the Auto Track Selector. It let's DaVinci Resolve know when I perform an operation like X to mark an in and out, what track do I want Resolve to pay attention to?…
