Should you care if your images meet the specifications of broadcast legality even if you never plan to deliver to a broadcast network? In the end, projects render to industry standard codecs. In this video, instructor Patrick Inhofer walks you through how to set up your project so you can check to see if it's broadcast legal in DaVinci Resolve 14.
- Should you care if your images meet the specifications…of broadcast legality even if you never plan…to deliver to a broadcast network?…My answer?…Yes.…Because in the end, we all render our images…to industry standard codecs and these codecs…will support and have the same limitations…of broadcast images.…For most of us that's HD video, Rec. 709.…Generally speaking, the highest quality images…come from adhering to industry limitations…on your max brightness and max saturation.…
But moving images have a tendency to have these…momentary excursions that you might miss.…Happens for a frame or two, and that's where two sets…of tools in DaVinci Resolve come into play.…We're continuing where we left off…in the last movie, which is OAC-Spot-Conformed.…I am here on shot number one and I've taken it…and added a little bit of red into the gain here,…just to push the image towards a little bit of illegality,…right, we're starting to push this a little too red.…
Let's also kick up our saturation and the first question is…is there an automated tool that will help us know…
