…What I'm about to say will make no sense, but its a true statement.…You cannot format a card in a Blackmagic camera.…Now every other still and video camera I have ever used in my life, has had…the ability to format a card and get that card ready to use with the camera.…For some reason, Blackmagic cameras do not.…I don't know if it's cost savings or if…it was a technical hurdle they couldn't get over.…But for some reason, you're going to pretty much have…a guarantee that you're going to be bringing a Mac or…a Windows laptop on set with you, both to transfer off…the footage and to make sure the cards are properly formatted.…
And here's the thing.…The other day, I was out shooting in the middle of Zion National Park.…It was frigid and it was cold,…and we weren't exactly thinking with 100% clarity.…We were having an incredibly interesting problem, which was that we could record to…cards, but after we got over about the two minute mark, we couldn't stop recording.…The card couldn't close out the file.…Well, it turns out some of the new cards…
