Node macros: Splitter/Combiner nodes

- There are several commands in DaVinci Resolve for dealing with nodes and some of them fall in the category that I call macro commands. The one I want to look at right now is the splitter combiner macro because not only is it kind of nifty to show you, it also reveals some of the power within nodes in DaVinci Resolve. So how do you find the splitter combiner macro? Come up to the Nodes menu and select Add Splitter Combiner Node. And there's a lot going on here isn't there? It calls it a node but it's more than a node. It's actually five nodes that have just been added together. Sometimes what I like to do when I do this type of thing is just clean up the node tree so it becomes a little easier to see what precisely is going on. So what we've got is our initial gray that I'd done in a previous movie on expanding out the contrast on this shot. I press shift + d that's the original image. Press shift + d again and this is our color corrected shot. Now the only node that's actually doing…
