New minimum software requirements - DaVinci Resolve Tutorial
From the course: DaVinci Resolve 12 Essential Training
New minimum software requirements
- With every major Resolve update, and Resolve 12.5 is a major update, it's always good to review the major hardware and software requirements for running Resolve, and that is what this movie's about. The initial Resolve 12.0 release had it running on a much broader range of laptops and desktops than ever before. But remember, it's capabilities expand with the capabilities of your machine. Things I can do in real-time on my production rig just barely work on my laptop. And just because it works on my laptop, doesn't mean it will work on yours. Resolve relies heavily on our graphics cards, so make sure your GPU meets one of these minimum specs, which are different than the initial Resolve 12.0 release. Resolve supports more brands of GPUs than ever before, but if you don't meet the OpenCL and CUDA minimum requirements, you'll experience nothing but crashes, freezes, and general instability. On the Mac, Resolve will run on just about anything Apple has released in the past few years…
