- When I recorded the DaVinci Resolve 11 training, I said, "Their new editorial tools are nearly "as full-featured as you'd find on any other system." In Resolve 12, nix the nearly. BlackMagic has put major development into their editing toolset, bringing it on par with the other NLEs on the market. Now, that's not to say it has every feature you might want that's in your current favorite nonlinear editor. But the important stuff, it's there, plus a couple extras. Not to mention that there's this whole color page thing that's literally one click away. In this chapter, rather than doing a full comprehensive title just on the editing tools for full-time editors, I'm focusing on the features, tools, tricks, that a colorist, a DP, an editor, or one of their assistants might need to know to do their work or maybe even build a demo reel. I'm talking making revisions, replacing shots, working with graphics, titles, audio, how to do that stuff efficiently, in other words, keyboard shortcuts…
